Second Shiba Coat

I just have a quick question. At what age do Shibas start growing their second coat or overcoat? Also, when do they first start shedding? Any advice on the FURminator? I just want to be prepared for all of this so I can keep my house as fur-free as possible, haha. Also, I am excited to see what Mika will look like once it grows in. Thanks in advance for the knowledge and more Mika spam is coming soon. She is growing so fast!

    I would think that "technically" she already has her double coat, as for when it will really fill in, I don't know for sure as I have never had a puppy. However, I have noticed that Nemo's coat still seems to get a bit thicker every year as he gets older.

    The FURminator is a great tool to use when your dog is shedding. It is not an everyday brush though. You can use it two times a week or so during shedding.
