PS: Got a new cam. that shoots in 16:9 aspect ratio - what do you think?
    ----

PSPS: I tried to get the video to embed in "high quality" by adding "&fmt=6" to the end of the URL but it is not the higher quality video. Anyone know how to get YouTube to embed/stream the higher quality video?

Ok, I got the higher quality to work - just add "&ap=%2526fmt%3D18" to the embedded URL. :o)

"Luytyi could pull all of you" LOL!

The Hilo and Luytyi playing video is so cool! I'd be all in the middle of that getting bitch slapped and slapping back, heheh.
Kuma and I came back form our morning walk a bit ago and normally, on weekends, when we get to the square behind my building which is quiet enough with almost no traffic (especially early in the morning) I let him loose and he run around chasing each other and playfighting. Sometimes he gets all talkative and it's really funny. If I pick him up he stops talking sh!t and gets the picture, hehehe.

Luytyi's eyes look so cool in the night video!
I liked his attitude, patrolling and trying to figure out what it was, but not going all crazy.

The new camera looks good to me. What did you get?

oh my, little kaia and big luytyi! so funny! he seems quite aware of this size aspect around the other dogs, esp Kaia. Thats pretty good right? I mean if he accidentally steps on her.. you'd have a pancake kaia!

*Why do OC's lose their ears but not their tails?

OHHHHH I needed that. I love you panning over to Kahunas sweet little smile too.

wow, definately looks like you've got a great night watchmen on your hands! I have to agree about the eyes too, definately awesome.

Remy perked up and got on the alert when he heard the dogs barking in the video. He looked very confused and concerned when he heard L's deep bark..lol.

Love the videos --- especially the tug of war, and the night video! Thanks for sharing and congrats on the new camera!

    Thanx All!

Rui - It's nothing special. I was gonna get an HD cam but since I only put my stuff on YouTube I didn't see the point in paying double the price. So I went with a Canon FS100. It's ok, very simple. I'm not thrilled that the file format it produced is a .MOD file, but as you can see the results are not bad. The videos I uploaded to YouTube [the videos in this thread] were all compressed again with DIVX to reduce the file size.

    ----

Jen - L is pretty good about not smashing the pups when he plays, but we do have to watch him. He seems to be aware of his size but he also is kinda clumsy right now.

As for the docking, I really don't know the answer. My guess would be because CO's tails curl over their back. I've noticed most breed that get their tails cropped have little to no curl [with the exception of the schipperke].

    ----

Mike - This vide doesn't do the deepness [and loudness] of BIG L's bark justice. It is really pretty amazing. When he barks you can hear it echo across the mesa!

Luytyi is a pretty fast big guy, huh?
Kona has to be the craziest of your dogs...maybe even a bit more than Ahi :-)
  • edited November -1
I'm always amazed at how agile large dogs can be, especially huge dudes like Luytiy. If I were you, I don't think I'd ever get tired of watching them play like that. :-)

The tug of war really shows the size difference between the dogs! And on the Hilo and Luytyi shot, they are both on hind legs for the briefest second, and you get a real sense of how big they are, especially Luytiy! They are all so amazing. And the night clips are great! Poor Ahi!

Yea, L is pretty fast. When her runs through the sagebrush all you hear is cracking sounds as he crushes it all.

I took a few new videos, figure I'll just keep adding the random ones to this thread...

So I don't get a lot of videos of our Shibas, not because I don't try - I am always trying - but because they play so fast and short I always miss it. This clip is after Maui and Kaia were playing on the couch like crazies, when I got the camera and started recording them they had already stopped. So this video ended up being Kaia being a little silly then stealing Maui's bed:

Recently, I dunno if it is due to the Thyroid meds or not, Lani has been very playful. She didn't play much before but now she plays a lot, she really seems to like Luytiy too. It's rather cute to watch Lani play:

Awww, its great to see Lani playing! I'm always pretty outspoken about the crush I have on her, but I think it just got a little worse. I love the stalking behavior. Its my favorite to watch!

The beginning of the 2nd vid - the opening with Luytiy and Kona, it's so picturesque.
  • edited November -1
Awe. Lani is soooo cute! She hops about and shakes her head...so much like Mika.

Awwww Lani & L are so cute together! I really love the playing :)~
