Rudi is back
Hi everyone. I was just laughing out loud at some of the fun pictures; Ryu turning one-year was exceptionally close to home.
Rudi was born 10-22-07, and although I could chronicle his development through pictures, I felt it best to just show some current for now.
He is a really gregarious creature. I remember how much everything scared him and he would run under the bed for any tiny approach. Now he takes a two-mile walk twice a day. He visits the Farmer's Market downtown every Saturday where he is celebrated by every passerby; some even yell out "Hey Rudi" as he strolls through countless vendor tables and scores of meandering people with their dogs in tow. Our Market is the socializing place for people and their dogs here in Las Cruces. Rudi poses at any chance and lets everyone greet him. He has come such a long way and even shows manners when meeting other dogs.
Rudi thrives off of affection. I am also grateful to say that he is a Shiba that works well with other animals. My chickens, rabbits, lovebirds and parakeets all seem to enjoy having him around.
Later I will post his odd behaviors, I am sure it will be like normal to everyone else.
take care, Ron and Rudi

What have you been up to?
Lovely pictures of your Rudi. I'm so glad you described him as a timid creature at the beginning as it gives me hope for mine. I look forward to hearing you share more about Rudi!

Don't disappear again! )

All is well finally.
Crimson, I can only say that with Rudi he was so timid that I swore he was afraid of his own shadow. I even was worried that someone might think that I have abused him or something. Slowly I just allowed him to make the small steps as they occured and he has come out of his shell very nicely. He still is leary of some situations but more and more he has overcome them all. It was the same with his crate to corral to free-roaming the house; his transition was based on his behaviour and I just went with it. One day he had his day-corral (a kid fence) and the next he was sleeping on my bed and accepted the house as his den. Not a single problem at all.
Ok, glad to be back .....I missed you guys more !
