Yea, Kona likes snow... but I also enjoy the challenge of shooting him in snow. the black on white contrast makes it difficult. I love the way the snow reflects in his eyes.
That first pic I took when Kona was sniffing the air - there was a skunk outside the fence... It was the perfect opportunity to get a nice shot of him posing. )
Brad: Kona seems to be getting more distinctive all the time --- must be that his look is changing as he is maturing! Seems to have lost a little of the "puppy-roly-poly" look or something. Anyway, he is a looker, that Kona! I think Josephine may fall in love! And he seems to have a very sweet personality --- lively, happy to see you, and respectful, too!
Bev - Yea, Kona has matured a lot. Jen was actually just saying how the past few weeks his face has matured a lot. It's neat to watch the pups mature.
Kevin - Thanx. Our fence has changed a lot since these pics, actually we are adding onto it right now. Our fence is a mash-up of pressed cedar posts, field wire, Latillas (small aspen trees), and privacy fencing. There is a thread somewhere then I have info on my blog - and I'll be updating it when this round of fence stuff is complete later this week.
This is my fav. Kona pic so far. I dunno why, this pic just seems to capture his spirit. Kona has this matter-of-fact gaze. It's slightly sympathetic while still being serious and to the point. I think it's really cute. This pic also captures his cool and laid-back nature (IMO)...
I've noticed that face on Kon'a pics too Brad! He looks very sympathic and serious at the same time. I can't believe he sat there letting you take a picture of him being eaten ha ha ha. That cracks me up.
I'm glad to hear that Kona has mellowed out and is growing into a well behaved man.

* On a side-note: Freakin' Shikoku and their need to wrap their entire mouth around other animals -laughs-.
Kona is very handsome! Does he have a fort behind him there, in the 3rd shot- the cinder blocks?
How big are he and Ahi?

Ahi rocks.
