someone else said it just came up a couple days ago. neat huh?

HECK YEAH!!!!! I must have missed that topic! lol Now if only i could get an email notification when someone responds to something I wrote....that way I dont have to keep pressing "refresh"! hahahahahhah
  • edited November -1
If you have Opera, you can set it to "refresh" every so and so amount of seconds.

LOL - I added that a few days ago, just thought it was neat. Let me know if you notice a performance issue with it as it requires some extraneous database calls.

This is one of many updates I plan to add after reviewing the Survey results.

    Thanks Brad! ~

I definitely like it - I haven't noticed any lag time.

    Now when I say..."I see you!" I really can...moihahahaha! ~

Now we find out who the real addicts are :P
  • edited November -1
it makes it tempting to not login, so no one can see me.
  • edited November -1
    lol

But then you can't access all the threads...or reply! & then I can't say, "I see you LJ!" :( ~

Shigeru, Maybe there are some in hiding? There are 3 guests on right now...wonder who that could be? ;) ~
  • edited November -1
I know but if I hide half the time, then it won't be as noticeable to see just how bad my addiction is.
  • edited November -1
    lmao.

    I am going to create a real club...the Nihon Ken Addicts Anonymous [ NKAA, n - k - double A ] lol ~

How do you even code that? I'm taking webdesign 2 and have no idea how to do that.

edit: an invisible button would be great!

Now it says...one phantom user is on! wtf is that?!?!? ~
  • edited November -1
At the end of the "where is Everybody" thread, there was discussion about this add on. I asked about phantom users and guest, Rina(Okiron) responded:

"Phantom user is someone who selected on their profile options to 'hide' from the list. Guest is someone who isn't signed in."
  • edited November -1
I like it. I noticed it last night for the first time, and was thinking "How long has that been there?". Didn't notice any response time issues.
  • edited March 2009
Um Brad......what survey? *EDIT* never mind! LOL THAT survey! lol

I LOVE this update! haven't seen any lag times either.

PHANTOM USER!!! I demand to know who you are! >:D ~
  • edited November -1
    Yes, who is the Phantom???
  • edited November -1
    There's more than 1 lol.
  • edited November -1
if they said, then they wouldn't be a phantom anymore.
  • edited November -1
Ok, really stupid question. Is there any rhymn or reason as to the order of names in the Who's Online section? Not that I really NEED to know.......I just have too much time on my hands.
  • edited November -1
maybe in the order of joining the forum?
  • edited November -1
    It'S really great!
I'm glad that this page is here, cause I just thought that maybe I was blind or slow....
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA IS HERE>>>>IN SIDE YOUR MIND...
I'm not the phantom but it' like someone is watching us!
  • edited November -1
Looks like it is based on your member "number"
  • edited November -1
    Gotcha! Thanks!
  • edited November -1
I wonder how many of those guests are bots.
  • edited March 2009
Can we change our user names? I think mine is lame lol. It was a spur of the moment thing.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but a bot is basically an automated poster on the forum. Guests cannot do that. They also have to go through a rough registration process that involves getting acceptance from Brad. Would someone develop a bot to just search the forums? I haven't seen any spam (not pictures) on the forums. Once they are in, they try to harvest e-mail accounts or even have "scrappers" that scrape content from your forum.

edit: MVTRACKER.com allows you to monitor activity on the forum, which will help you weed out the bots and ban IP's.
