- She had just come out of heat about the time those July photos were taken. She didn't blow her coat persay [I didn't have to pluck out any fur] but she did shed a lot and I had to brush her frequently (especially on the rear, it got all "matted" to her bum!).
Though Kotomi is still very cute, her coat really isn't at its best right now. Maybe cause of the summer weather? I'm looking forward towards the fall/winter...though California weather...should still cool off. And she should grow a decent & beautiful coat.
Brad
- Kotomi's fur does seem longer. It is indeed very course. Shoushuu is in full summer coat right now, but even with his winter coat...his fur was still soft at touch (more course then Lynx's coat, but still soft). Kotomi's coat is bit "rough" at touch, even after a good brushing, shampoo, rinse & dry...that's just how it is -shrugs-. I'm trying to remember if Shoushuu has always had a soft feel to him or if it had come with age. I guess we'll have to wait and see how Kotomi's coat fairs once she reaches full maturity next year.

I'm trying to become more camera savy again. More so during training sessions & other fun stuff.
I'm always spending so much time admiring all of your dogs, I forget to post spam of mine! lol.
Corina: ugh, lets hope this california weather can cool down, Sevook's coat has gotten extremely dry now, but it gets really soft in fall/winter, although i've seen a really big difference ever since we added fish oil to his diet about 6 months ago
Unfortunely, nothing too exciting just some more environmental work with Aisy, messing around on the play equipment with Lynx and an evening's hike out with the dogs - all 3! <--- this is quite the accomplishment for me - we went by ourselves this time . I'm STILL trying to get the hang of it. Lynx was really good throughout...the Shikoku were giving me some trouble...namely Kotomi who every now and then decided SHE was leading us! She may be a 30 lb dog, but when she sprints forward and pulls me on the leash...LOL.
"What gear is the lovely Lynx modelling for us in the last video? a backpack, a prong and does she have a halti on as well?
- Chrystal"
Yup! That backpack is kinda big (it's a large) for her but it's all that I had. I need to invest into some hiking gear with the correct size of medium for her pack, lol. I have the halti so I have control of her head, that's attached to the prong so I don't hurt her if I need to tug on the halti. Frankly, the halti though "innocent" as it looks can put strain on the neck an cause possible injury (especially if the dog tries to fight it)...the prong prevents any injury to the neck. While Lynx is doing wonderfully then...should a small or toy type off leash dog approach us or Lynx discovers something else to chase (HIGH PREY DRIVE) I need to be prepared. If I was just walking her alone, she'd be fine on a fur saver...but I dare not attempt that on my very first time walking all 3 ALONE in an area where supposeded mountains lions are free roaming. I've taught Lynx some self-control...but if I can't back up my commands...I didn't want to take that chance in this environment.
Casey,
There've only been a couple of times when I actually had to walk all 3, but I always had help available if I needed. This time I didn't have anyone to tag along with me and the dogs. So I was just like, "...forget them, I'm taking my dogs out for a hike anyways!" It was fun...we had a good time.
I'll be constantly challenging myself though...once I get the hang of walking all 3...and do some major touch up on Miss Chloe's walking skills...I'm gonna try to take all 4 out, LOL. I'll play the game, "Lets see how many dogs Corina can walk together at a single time!"
--------------------------
Hopefully I can con someone to come out with us next time. And perhaps that person can take better photos and video footage .
I know what you mean about the halti. It's not the right tool for my guy when he freaks due to the neck-danger issue (at my Suzanne Clothier seminar she pointed out that the longest yard penalty in football is the Facemask penalty for the same reason.) On a different dog the halti is a better tool.
Miss Lynx reminds me of my Reilly- watching her face as she listens to you, then goes off to do it. It's the same eager expression...nice to see more of Lynx.

Love the slide!
It's funny in Aislyn's video when she pauses it's like "wait, I think I know this song on the radio... Hmmm.. Nevermind lets go down this aisle." lol
Like the slide esp the last tube slide! Good girl.
Nice floofy tails on those shikoku!
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the video of Lynx at the playground. Especially when she is trying to make it up, but keeps sliding down. lol!
