yeah, im hope so too. i cant find them anywhere. thats why i suspected the dogs... i really hope they show up. 1 was my engagement, another 2 were a pair for my anniversary.

    D: oh goodness.
    I'm sure you'll find them.
hopefully you'll just turn around and they'll be there. sometimes when you lose stuff they end up being somewhere you looked 100 times.

If the dogs remain active and drinking normally, you should have your rings back pretty fast, if they swallowed them.
If the rings have any rough edges, like diamond or so, I'd take them to the vet to make sure they don't get stuck anywhere and do some damage. Actually I'd take them to the vet anyway, but rough edges are more trouble than smooth ones.

they are behaving normal, ate their dinner fine, water intake is normal, and have been playing.
the vet is closed now, if the rings dont come out by tonight, ill take them in 1st thing in the morn to have them checked out.

That really stinks...Hopefully an x-ray will help determine if the rings are in there, and if they are, hopefully notdoing any damage on the way out.

im usually very careful with where i put stuff, try to make sure its not within their reach. but i guess they jumped off the couch and got on the table, cos the book on the table got on the floor too.
honestly, i just really hope the rings dont do anything damages to them. those are my wedding/engagement rings and mean a lot, but more importantly i jsut wish they are ok and not hurt by it.

oh wow. hopefully they will be ok. I agree that even if the rings pass you should prolly have your dogs checked out by the vet just to be safe.

Hopefully everything will work out <3 ~

The rings should pass right on thru, you can give them some bulking up food if they just swallowed them (I think canned pumpkin is the favorite) to help protect the gut in case. Otherwise, time to get out that special swatch of window screen and your garden hose that you have been saving for just such an event as this :)

Hopefully your dogs will be okay. Look on the bright side, maybe they'll come out polished. I'd still take them to get cleaned though.

I remember reading that even if a shiba is hurt they hide the symptoms until the last possible moment so as to not show weakness to the pack.

    Maybe they pawned them?

Sorry to hear about your rings...
But, I couldn't help but chuckle at "Maybe they pawned them?" Seems like Shiba thinking to me...
Anyway, hope you get them back safe..
Mercutio once got up on the table and chewed JUST the power button corner off a remote....
That's like the most important one!!

    did the rings reappear?

its been 4 days and no sign of my rings yet.
im starting to think my lab didnt eat it, but where else could it have gone?
i clearly rem taking all 4 out and leaving them on the table, and only 1 was left on the table. i thought maybe the other 3 fell onto the floor or somewhere, but i have seriously filpped my house inside out and no sign of it still.
and i also figured it cldnt be the shibas cos they cant even reach the table, only suspect now is my lab (koda), he eats rocks and stuff, so yeah
    Sighhh******

So you've only been checking your lab's poop and not the shiba's?
  • edited November -1
i have been checking shibas and labs poop, just in case.
but nothing so far.... nothing at all... sigh

yup yup, my husband is in SD now and i dont have a license here in Japan, he will be back on Mon, so we'll take all 3 in for xrays on Mon, hopefully that will solve the mystery
if not its not in any of them, i really dont know where they cld be.

Did you check inside their beds/crates.
I can't really think of anything else except the x rays....
Hope the weekend brings good results....

looked UNDER kitchen appliances? My cats like to bat things around. Perhaps Koda knocked it off, and one of the shibas batted it around. When Jay and I moved, I was shocked by the missing things I found under furniture. If you haven't looked, certainly worth a shot.

thanks jessica, yeah ive looked under the appliances, silly as it sounds i even looked in the freezer, trash, dishwasher, basically everywhere in the hse :/
i just dont get it... bahhhhhhhh!!!

This story reminds me of a chapter in the book, "Marley and Me"....he ate a gold necklace and if I recall, it sounded like it took about a week or just a bit less for it to re'appear (completely polished). Could be anyday now!

I remember as a kid I left my kite on the couch. When I went to go get it, my string was gone...I kept looking all over the house, no luck. Finally, at breakfast, my dad says, I think Kino ate your string...I shrugged...nah...my dad repeats, "Kino ate your GD string....LOOK!"....and sure enough, there he stood at the fence dragging a gooey 6' lenghth of string from his behind. I has handed a roll of paper towels, and told to retrieve my "string"....all I can say...until you've pulled an entire spool of string out of your dog you haven't lived! :)

I have to laugh at the PAWN idea...makes me think you might have a dogfather amongst your pack! ;)
