Finally Gone

edited March 2009 in General
Our beloved freezer hawk is finally leaving!!!! We're leaving in an hour or so to take it to an elder who will prepare the hawk for us. The hawk joined our family in April 08...11 months later it's finally going!!!! We get our freezer back! Woohoo!!!!!! *dances a jig*

Ok, I'm done lol.

Haha alright, we just took some for ya. Uploading it now. It looks like we broke his neck though :( No centerpiece hawk for us but meh, we could still use the feathers and claws.

Rui - It's our hawk that's been living in the freezer for the past year.

    Thanks for the pictures! :-P

He is a bit smaller than I thought he would be. But he is very pretty and will make a great feather arrangement? :-D

But why, why do you have a hawk in your freezer?

lmao! I was wondering how long you were going to have it for :) ~

Casey - I'll upload more pictures tomorrow when we managed to spread him open completely. He's pretty big even though he looks so small bundled up.

Brandon - Lol because Errik needs one for his regalia but we haven't been able to get a hold of the person who prepares them until now. So we had him in the freezer till arrangements could be made

Well once we got there and really inspected him, he's actually pretty useable as a whole so we wont be destroying him and using only bits and pieces. In about a month freezer hawk will come back as dried up bustle hawk lol. Hopefully in about 2 months we will have Errik dancing again!

Where did you get this hawk?
  • edited November -1
Someone found it. Not sure who because it got hot potatoed around till they found someone who needed a hawk (us). Waste not, want not.

Is that an extra pair of legs, where did those come from?
  • edited November -1
If you look at the first pictures you'll notice a clear bag next to the hawk. It was in there along with 2 wings, looks to be of a younger hawk. We took the legs because Errik could use them and gave them the wings as payment for preparing the hawk for us.

Hey, that looks like our freezer hawk! I thought we got rid of it but I guess somehow it ended up with you :) Someone hit it with their car while we were driving by so we took it home and it died on the way. Kept it for a year then gave it to a relative. It's good to see other people recycling. That's really cool that your hawk, and Errik will be up and dancing in no time.
