Could I Have Been Missed By a Shiba?!
The answer seems to be yes and, while I don't want my baby to be unhappy, it sort of feels good.
I have been a very busy lady, indeed. A close friend returned from halfway across the country, I'm still on my diet and have joined a gym (and lost 10 lbs since joining! Go me!), I've been given a duet to learn for the opera company's last show which starts its run in three weeks, I'm trying (again) to learn piano, and I'm hurriedly developing an audition repertoire - as I said; busy. I still spend a good deal of time with Tosca - we go on walks, play, ect... - but I've been gone for most of the last three days. After I got home this evening, I went on the computer and did what i usually do and then I went over, picked Tosca up and laid on the sofa waiting for her to make her funny, shiba, "let me down or lavish me with affection" noises and then I'd get back to what I was doing. Much to my surprise, the complaints never came. She nuzzled in under my chin and we laid there for the better part of a half hour. It's moments like that that make me believe that I'm more than just a food, water, and walk delivery service for her and that she just might enjoy my company.
Then she jumped out of my arm and tipped over the empty box my exercise ball came in while trying to shred it. Back to shiba-owning reality!

Glad to hear about all the god things going for you, & YAY! for losing weight! I lost 8 pounds too! [ change of diet & started exercising too ] so huzzah! ~
Do you like your exercise ball? I love it when I am actually diligent enough to use it, but if I don't use it every day it just takes up too much space and I deflate it. And it takes about a day and a half to blow the dumb thing up, so it stays deflated for a long time Maybe I need to discover some new exercises.
Good luck in your endeavors! Hope the last show goes well!
