A couple Forum Questions

edited April 2009 in General
I am probably the most incompetent member on this forum when it comes to technical skills. So with that said I've noticed that all of you have catchy member names and I still have my first(and last) name next to my icon.I feel kinda like a dork. Can someone explain how I can change this. Also no matter how many ways I type in lat.& long. I can't get it to accept ,wouldn't a zip code be easier?

I think that Brad might have to change your User Name (my user name is Edgewood, for instance). I don't see a way to change it in your user profile.

Right now your user name is Dave Shaffer. I would contact Brad (or maybe he will see this thread) and he could help you change your user name.

And don't feel bad, I tried for 10 minutes to get my lat and long to work and I am still located in the middle of the ocean, LOL! I gave up. I tried every suggestion that everyone posted...nothing worked. So I guess I am with you Dave!

Dave - Pretty sure either Brad or one of the other moderators will have to change your user name if you want it changed...

However, there is a very nice topic under the help tab for adding yourself to the member map:

LJ did an excellent job with that and I believe she even mentioned a website where you can get your correct lat-long.

Haha... I always wondered if I could change my user name... since I stupidly picked a video game log-in for mine :oP I just never really went through the trouble of asking and now, I think it would be confusing if I did change it.

Given the option to create my own user login, I instinctively do not use my real name. However, I make up for it by putting my real name in my signature:). I'm rain man when it comes to remembering dog's names, people?? not so much...

Changing user names has to be done by directly accessing the database. In non-technical terms, that means that Brad is the only one that can do it. :-)

If he doesn't happen across this thread soon, shoot him an email (info@nihonken.org) and he'll hopefully get to it soon.

Yea, I can change your username. Let me know what you want it changed to. [Evan & Dave]
