More Snow!

edited April 2009 in General
Well, we got some more snow today and I took just a few pics.

Most of the pups were not interested in the snow today, I think the novelty of snow has worn-off this year... They want spring just like us.

So most of these pics are of Masha, Luytiy, Kahuna, and Loa. Those four never seem to get sick of snow.

Pics...

Is that a... Weim puppy? Oh wait, your other pics say he's a Cane Corso.

I can't believe you're still getting snow mid-April. I would be going crazy!

It`s too late for snow! Someone tell New Mexico to knock it off.

Have your pups lost all their winter furÉ Mine did and now they don`t like the cold so much.

Wow... Definitely hard to imagine snow... It is 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky!

Big L is definitely filling out. He is absolutely stunning. :) And where, oh where, did this cute little Cane Corso puppy come from???

Yep, that's Blue our little Cane Corso. He is a Blue Brindle. We had him for a few weeks now.

I agree, snow in April is kinda strange; but I guess that's the price you pay when you live at 7500 feet.

Yea, the pups blew their coats and so now they don't really like the cold.

Ok wait.....Brad, you have ANOTHER new pup? OMG. He's a CUTIE!!!!! Did I miss his intro in another thread???? Or is this the first mention of Blue? Spill it! How'd you end up with another handsome pup??

Have to agree - When did I miss the Cane Corso??? I LOVE them! And Blue is beautiful! Masha seems to be growing as well :)

Snow?? Crazy! I LOVE that first pic of Kahuna. He's totally burying himself. Cute.

    Thanx all!

Yes, Kahuna seems to really love the snow - same with Luytiy and Loa. Blue, not so much.

I didn't give Blue an intro thread, I don't really have a good reasons why I didn't. So, we can just make this an intro thread for Blue.

Blue will be our "farm dog", he will protect us on the trail, guard the property, and do any other jobs we need him to do. Cane Corsos are very versatile and can do almost any type of work.

    And he is super cute.

Hi Brad: Not another snow! I just heard there was a town in Colorado that received 52" of snow in 24 hours! Wow--- we only had 45" inches all winter long! Happy mountain living, I guess!

Funny thing--- I missed the info. on the new puppy, too, until today. What a cutie! Great name --- reminds of another song lyric... I think a Neil Young song.

Strange coincidence --- I dropped a few items over to my son's house which he just moved into this week. As I pulled up and we were unloading my car, a couple from the neighborhood stopped and introduced themselves. Turns out they were walking their dog, a Cane Corso. I had not seen or heard of the breed before, but the dog was beautiful and very sweet-tempered. She was about 11 years old, and very calm and gentle, or so it seemed. Can't wait for their dog and Josephine to meet up sometime. Her owner said she does not like aggressive dogs... hmmm... wonder how that wil work with Josephine's exuberance, although she is very respectful with older dogs.

Bev - That's an interesting coincidence! I'm glad to hear she appeared to have a good temperament, it seems CCs have a bad wrap for some reason. A lot of the trainers I we work with have had some rather negative reactions when we told them about Blue.

Yesterday was Blue's first puppy socialization class... he did great! He's very confident and polite - I couldn't be happier with his temperament!

People probably just have a knee-jerk reaction to them because they look like gladiators.

Kahuna look funny in the snow.
Masha, Luytiy and Loa are funny too!

    very cute Blue

People get the Cane Corso mixed up with the Pressa Canario (sp?) which was the dogs that were involved in the San Francisco Dog Mauling case a few years back where that woman was killed. I think they assume all the dogs are vicious people killers.

Cane Corsos are lumped in with all of the "big scary" dogs.

Yea, just this weekend someone thought that a Cane Corso was the dog that killed the lady in SF... I corrected her tho. :o) She was not against the breeds tho, she was actually saying she wanted a Mastiff-type dog one day... so even an educated dog person gets the 2 of them messed up.

When I looked into Cane Corsos, I found they were actually included in a lot of breed specific legislation. :( The breed is one I thought about until I found the Kai Ken. One of the places I would like to end up eventually is in Colorado, and I believe they are listed in some of the cities' breed bans (though I heard there has been work to get the BSL changed).

I am very glad to see Blue (it's my favorite of the colors) and excited for many more pics to come!
