Akita Cup 2009

Hi all!
I have a very good news from Akita Cup!
Russian club-dogs (females) win the second and the third place in Akita Cup! Its a great win for us :) I will post some pictures later.

    Some friends of mine were at the Akita cup and tell me there were 147 Akita on the show!!!!
    Hope to go at the Akita cup one day, to see that!

    wow! I don't know a single thing about akitas, but that Kenshin is an impressive looking dog to me! He and Ashitaka are just so... regal.

    Actually I have two questions if you'll indulge me, Akita pros!

    If they have the word "Go" in their title, are they all decedents from the same line?

    And in shows, why do people 'fluff' up their faces with the lead? They don't naturally look that puffed, is that just a show requirement?

    the word "Go" in the name of Akita dogs, it's just to conect name of the dog and name of the kennel. ("Go" is like a japanese traditional connection between name and kennel's name)
    For exemple: Akino Go O Chanur:
    Akino = name of the dog
    Go = connection
    O Chanur = name of the kennel

    On the last set of pics, the 3rd pic down of the forward facing red-nice front! Those are some nicely presented Akita over there.

    Great photos!

    Unshou is the only one of these dogs I have met, and he's really a great Akita.

    Those are some seriously gorgeous dogs...I love how the Akita Inu can be both strong and elegant at the same time.
