Why did you dig a big hole? Just for doggie amusement?

We are having some fence work done this week. Since they had their bobcat here I asked if the fence guys would dig us 2 6x8 foot holes - one 2 feet deep and the other is 3 feet deep. These holes are the start of some "cooling dens" we will be building out of cinder blocks for the dogs.

Kona is King of the Mountain!

    Love it.

Blue with his dirty nose is freakin' adorable.

Dogs - like children - can be amused by the most amazing and simple things :)

Those pictures are awesome...so how many pounds of the dirt got tracked into the house. I could just picture dusty paw prints everywhere.

I think every picture I have ever seen of the interior of Casa Anderson is dusty paw prints!

Like the ones at the wolf haven?? Very awesome!

Blue's nose is dirty like that because he felt the need to dig is very own hole NEXT TO the giant hole. LOL

Dusty paw prints is a constant around here, there is no escaping them giant dirt mound or not. The muddy paws are the ones that kill Jen and I... or when the mud has dried enough to be clumpy, and big old Luytiy decided to jump on to the couch. *sigh*

I realized I double posted the first image, i meant to post this one...

Blue just wanted to show you he could do just as good of a job as the big excavators! So cute.

Masha all dirty face is adorable too.

That's a great idea! I'm sure they'll love their dens when Summer hits.

They all look very cute with their new toy!

Oooooh! FUN! Your dogs are spoiled silly. :-P

Looks like a lot of fun! I can't wait to see the dens after they are built.

Our city pups over here are very jealous!!!

That's awesome-I wondered about how these types of dogs would do with having a den built vs a traditional kennel or dog house. The den seems much more in tune with their nature. Cool idea.

Hahah. That's an awesome idea though.

I have a lot of dirt in my yard and Lynx had the exact same idea. She made her very own "cooling den" by digging into the mound of dirt I had back there. The Shikoku loved it too. Unfortunely I had to tear it down -frowns-.

Can't wait to see the end result!

Of course Kai-guy Kona is up at the top! that'd be Sage too. Up high and on lookout!

    I love your dog yard.
