Nihon Ken Health Database?
Is there anything like this in existence, a database for Nihon Ken that have lived to any number of years and any ailments found in the breed or the individual dog?
Yesterday I met a family who had two shibas, one had died last year of complications to epilepsy, and the other (currently 13) is still as healthy as ever, can still jump on tables! After the initial excitement of meeting people who knew, I mean really knew, shibas, it got me thinking... How can we track the health of these breeds?
Many very new to North America.. and their origins may not have recorded health issues, and if they did they are probably not online or not in English...
Does anyone know of such a source?
Or a way to begin one?

There is also a small Shiba study on age of death (and cause?). There was an article in the last Shiba E-news.
Here is the original thread: http://www.nihonken.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=79
