Weekend Trip with some other dogs...

edited July 2009 in Other Breeds
So this past weekend was my older sister's 30th birthday. I promised her I would not miss it, so last Thursday I did something I fear the most, I got on an airplane and flew to Los Angeles, California. Thanks to lovely little white pills my doctor gave me, I hardly noticed the plane and made it there in one piece (totally loopy, but in one piece!)

We drove up to Big Bear Lake where my mom rented us a cabin. It was BEAUTIFUL. The sun, the trees, the lake, the mountains, everything was perfect. We rented a boat and hung out on the lake and just chilled all weekend, until Sunday when I had to get on ANOTHER airplane to get home.

On the trip with us was my sisters two dogs, Bailey the Black Pug and Dobby the Chihuahua. Also along for the ride was Ruby the One Eyed Boston Terrier who my sister is dogsitting. I FELL IN LOVE WITH RUBY! She is so sweet and calm and not like any Boston I have ever met, plus she is a pirate with one eye! Soo Cute.

I really missed my Shiba's though and after spending a weekend with a pig snorting pug and a yappy Chihuahua, I am really glad I settled on Shibas :)

And now some lake spammage...

One of my older sisters MANY talents is rock stacking...she can balance rocks on top of eachother and make little rock towers...it's really cool...

4th of July Fireworks (Funny side note, my sisters birthday is the 4th and as kids she had me convinced that the fireworks were because it was her birthday, I remember crying to my mom because I wanted fireworks for my birthday too...middle child syndrome I guess)

Looks like a fun weekened getaway. Good job conquering your airplane fears!

it made me smile that Dobby the Chihuahua actually looks like dobby from the film (harry potter, one assumes). It, in fact, made my whole evening :D (assuming, of course, thats where his name hailed from)

Yup, Dobby got her name because she looks like a house elf! She is a rescue with grade 1 LP in one back knee, she is also kinda grumpy and takes a while to warm up to new people. But once she likes you, she is a sweet little dog, but man can they be yappy.
