So I joined this forum and...

Does anyone else find themselves constantly talking about this forum? I know I certainly do. "So I joined this forum. It's about Nihon Ken, which is the Japanese breed group that Mylo is part of, and everyone on there is like a big happy family!... this one couple, the people who started it, have this ranch with 11 dogs!"

12 dogs....the crazy dog people have 12 dogs...

And I talk about this forum non stop. I talk to forum members all day... chat, text, phone calls. It's great.

And yes, I can name all the dogs! LOL

Ah, yes, I guess Masha makes it 12 (she's the most recent to the pack, right?)

all I do at work is jump on this forum, i love it! It's "quick, let me finish this so I can check the forum"..
  • edited November -1

**Note: I work for a small construction company and we are really slow right now so I literally sign onto the forum at 8am and am on all day until 5pm...then I usually check it once before bed...sad really now that I think about it...

YES and nobody ever understands. Of course nobody I know in real life believes Sage is half rare Japanese dog to begin with ( "a what? yeah right...how many of THOSE are running around rural tennessee?"), so I just call it my Dog Forum and get on with my story, that way they think I am just a garden-variety dog-nerd and not a ridiculously delusional dog-nerd.

My husband is pretty tolerant (so far) of my forum addiction.
and you are all nicely tolerant of me, too! Thank you!
    :)

lol i work for a small company too and it is slow, and yeah I thought to myself the other day, damnit, I'd better watch it might get fired...;-)
  • edited November -1
hahahaha yeah, I work from 6am-11am, and then come home and the first thing I do is check the forum. Then I sleep for a bit, and then I'm on till the boyfriend comes home. I'm just glad I'm not the only one. LOL
  • edited November -1
Yeah, I kinda married the next in line to take over our company so getting fired really isn't in my future!

Well Kristin, you're not alone...I've been on here since I started work today (boss is road tripping), and have been reading the new and the old. It's interesting what you can find on here that occurred before joining
  • edited November -1
Kristin, way to snag a keeper! hahaha

My boyfriend is very tolerant, but sometimes makes fun of me, "Oh yeah? Your internet friends told you what today?" LOL. But he really can't talk because he plays with flight simulators on his computer. :P

Oh my husband thinks Im NUTS for being on here all day. My family doesn't understand my desire to meet everyone and their dogs!

I talk about the forum all the time too. Some people think I'm kinda crazy, others understand. I also talk to forum members all day... Really some of my closest friends are forum members now. It's pretty amazing, and cool.

I'm always like: "Oh man, you should see what all those crazy dog people on the Nihonken forum feed their dogs!" or "This one forum member (crazy dog person)..." LOL! (the pot calling the kettle black, no?)

At first when I joined and was talking non-stop about the forum James thought I was absolutely insane...

Now when we're trying to find something for our dogs (like our recent fish oil debacle) he's the first to say "Umm... have you asked anyone from your dog forums about this brand? Are you SURE this is the best kind our there?" It's REALLY funny to me. It's like he won't sign on because it's "my thing", but I don't know what he would do without the forums ;o)

    hahaha. That's awesome.

haha. The BF knows all about it & even asks, "So how are the forum people doing?"

    :D ~

I was hooked from my very first post. I work from home and I check the forum first thing in the morning and usually keep refreshing the page until we go to bed at night! Tim always says that I have no concern for the outside world if I can't hear about it through The Forum or Facebook. LOL

I, too, talk to forum members all day. You are all the only people who understand my crazy. And even though Tim would never sign on, whenever something funny or cute happens with our dogs, the first thing out of his mouth is "Did you post it yet?" :D

I talk about it all the time, too! Some people I just refer to by their first name and Noah knows who I'm talking about. For instance, if I'm talking about a Brad other than Brad Anderson, I make sure to explain that I'm not talking about Brad Anderson, lol.

We both talk about it all the time. Thankfully Dawn is as equally obsessed with this forum as I am. We look at stuff togehter, and she texts me at work with updates. I actually wanted to get a blackberry just to check the forum at work. I think if your not on here you can't really understand the madness that is this forum. We've had the pleasure of meeting a few of you in person, but we refer to everyone on a first name basis now. It is kind of sad, but I really could care less. If it wasn't for this forum we never would have gotten Katsu.

Ah, my fellow crazy dog people, what would I do without you.
  • edited November -1
"It's interesting what you can find on here that occurred before joining" Very true, I have read a lot of the really old posts and there are some really interesting off topics. lol, Yeah, I check 1st thing in the morning too. I am a mad lurker, cause I have no dogs to write about yet. But it has been a great learning prep tool.

You guys talk to person in real life? Face to face? Crazy talk.
  • edited November -1
Yeah, I talk about it a lot too... "so, one of my forum friends..." I finally had to show my sister what it was about cause I really think she was beginning to worry about my sanity!
  • edited November -1
hahahaha I don't. And probably won't. It's lonely up here in Ottawa, Ontario. But it's ok, because I surf the interweb.
  • edited November -1
interweb, you silly canadians and your funny canadian language. jk

Well Kyla, you know if you ever come to the states [ & most other parts of the world ] At least you have a forum friend there to greet you :D ~
  • edited November -1
    lol, Joe

Osy, it's true! Actually, my boyfriend was mentioning that today. He was like "As much as I make fun of you for your internet friends, it's actually pretty cool that you're meeting people from all over the world. We'll have people and puppies to meet anywhere we travel to!"
