    The last significant earthquake I experienced in California was not as big as this one but it was definitely one that shook you and not the kind you can sleep through (which is what we usually got). Right before it happened, Ki stopped playing and got really still and Gand (the parrot) stopped talking and moved off of his perch and on to the sturdier cage wall seemingly to brace himself. I remember staring at them like...wtf? since they both got really quiet and still at the same time and then the apartment shook something fierce but not for very long. They stayed really calm the whole time, just very still and once it was over they went back to what they were doing.

    I wonder if that dog caused the earthquake by running so fast. ;-)

    Good ol' Arcata! My grandma's farm was up near there in Rio Del. I don't think that dog is spooked from the earthquake. I think he's trying to run away from home to a better place!

    We were very lucky that the earthquake was not so large as it could have been.

    Fascinating! That dog bolts pretty early.

    Rainy, that would freak me out lol. Really cool though.
