We took Momo to a BBQ over at my wife's older sister's. She's good with kids, no worries there. She's also turned into a great nanny. When she first arrived she was quite bad with other dogs, including puppies, but she's come around. Between her and Baron the Kai pups that have come through recently have been well looked after. Our Kishu seem to really enjoy playing together, and with pups. Haru is a bit more aloof and only plays with them when she's in the mood.
That is interesting regarding the fact that your Kishu like to play with puppies but your Kai does not.
FWIW, my Kuma loves to play with my Shikoku puppy Sachi and he is really good with her. I remember the Dutch breeder Egitte saying that his grandfather also liked to play with the puppies.

Momo is looking much better than that initial photo you posted of her in the mangled crate!
Haru was great with Baron, but I guess she's just not into pups that much anymore. Momo's filled in a lot. I'm just happy I can no longer see her hip bones and shoulder blades jutting out of her back.
