Yeah - I think they look similar in their sesame and their body shape. Nami's red is a bit bolder than that, which I like a lot. Could be the images though.
I like the red in the first dog and the dog one up from Nami-look-alike.
I passed this one by the first time going through the blog. It looked like a Shikoku when I was scrolling quickly. My second time through, I realized it probably wasn't.
I was doing more poking around for other things today, but it all comes down to Kishu, so I thought I'd post these...
I like this guy.
I manually set a width on these, so sorry for the quality - the picture size was super small so I wanted to make it bigger for everyone.
A Kishu with some nice sesame. No black mask, a better red/tan than usual. Can't really speak much about the dog itself with just this picture though...
This one is from the same site - kind of unusual? I'm not sure this one is pure, but it was with the others who were.
I made this of Nami's coat changes last year to show the difference in color and fullness... the labeling isn't actually very accurate since her "summer" coat is also her post-pregnancy coat, but I thought I could share anyway...
More spam from me, but I found a treasure trove of old Kishu photos on a breeder's website and saw this dog...

I think this says he was the Kishu winner for 1941? Showa 16? Almost looks like a less-refined Shikoku... which I guess that's kind of their modern relationship in appearance, if the Kishu wasn't a predominantly white breed.
That web page has photos of some of the most famous boar dogs. Awesome photos. Couple of those yushoku kishus in the first few photos are really famous dogs. Wish there were that caliber of dogs today.
Oh! That's really cool, @shishiinu! Can you tell me about them?
What strikes me most is that they really don't look too different from our modern Kishu. I wonder how their temperament has changed, though, in that time.

Nammerssss. In two different lights.
I think the kennel's name is "Negoro no Garou sou"?
I like these images of her in the morning light.

Nice red pigment for a Kishu.

Found here - they have a bunch of old photos up. http://koujinmaru.jp/tenrankai.html
Also found this guy (girl?) on Negoro no Garou sou's website.
