No, I only used that for the photos. But he did very well with it, since he walks on leashes without pulling anyways. I don't know if one can see it in the first picture, but I changed the position of the "leash-stopper" (dunno how it is called in english), so even if you'd pull very hard it can't be any slighter than a normal collar. Usually we walk with a 2.8m leash and a normal collar or a harness(?). I like harnesses better because even if one of us pulls accidently it doesn't have such bad effects, but he'd choose normal collars if he was allowed too... (well, according to him walking "naked" would be best... LOL) Thats the way he's normally "dressed":
Since we were out in a small area where wild animals live - fenced and not fenced - and I took some vids, I just wanted to share. Just have one finished already, but some more will follow.
He used up all his energy going crazy about the young boar before, I guess... Gotta post that vid soon, it was really fun. His prey drive is a little on the low side. Mice and squirrels drive him nuts and birds sometimes a little, but everything his size or taller seems to be a proper playmate to him, not prey... He knows Shibas are made to hunt small prey!
Those are some tolerant deer! The deer around here would never have let my dogs get anywhere near them. However, my Shibas do the same thing... They just sit and watch. But if they move, the chase would be on!
So is this area a type of nature preserve?
I can not tell if he wants to eat the boars or play with them... Haha!

Do you use a slip lead on him all the time, or just when you are taking pictures? How does he do with it?

Impressive restraint on the little guy. :-)
