switching dog foods?

Okay I'm not sure, but we are friends with a Veteranarian, and a long time ago I think she told me it's good to change your dogs dog food every so now and then, instead of keeping them on the same stuff for ever.
Is it true? I honestly agree, because the dog deserves a change in tastes and nutrition. Instead of getting the same taste. same stuff. every day.
Ya know? But i could understand not to change the food for a senior dog or one that is allergic to certain food. But other than that, is it healthy to change food?
We change our dogs food often, and they seem fine with it.

A lot of people on dog forums seems to do rotations of different kibbles a lot.Make sense I'd hate to always eat chicken all my life.
With a dog that's allergic I dunno about that it'd be hard..

Dink is 13 or 14 years old I just feed her wellness core ocean I guess she should eat the senior formula, but she seems to do fine on this she hasn't gained weight or lose it and she still active during walks.

Saya gets raw so she gets a pretty good variety, but Bella right now she just gets wellness core ocean I'm hoping to rotate her between wellness core ocean, beef, and duck formulas for variety. Right now it'd be hard to do Dink our oldest doesn't take it too well to changes wellness core ocean seems to be the only food she can take anything else she farts and has loose poop.. =(
