Which breed is who?
As of the time of this writing (just after 11am Arizona time), I am wondering this: Brad or anyone else, for my tracking convenience, could tell me which breed are who for Brad's dogs? He frequently will mention their names here, but with him having so many, I lose track which NK type they are?
Also, how does an Ovcharka breed compare to other Molosser-types like the Newfoundland, Great Dane, Boxer, St. Bernard, and English Mastiff in regards to temperament?

I think Brad has a separate thread for most of his dogs, with pics, updates, etc.
Kaia, Maui - Shiba
Loa, Ahi, Kaiju - Shikoku
Kona, Ritsu, Ayu, Nio - Kai
Blue, Zeta - Cane Corso
Chase - human

are not. They can all make nice pets, but the CO is the only one that is still
a purpose bred working guard on top of that, so they retain a high degree of human
aggression towards strangers and will rely on their own judgment in evaluation of threats.
Its a level of intensity and liability that isn't something most people need in their lives, and a large breed
like the English Mastiff that is more "obedient" but still has a good physical
presence, is more than an adequate, and much safer, deterrent. Brad can add
way more insight then I can, however.
Oh I think I've seen him still there:
Kahuna - Akita
Jesse
Kodi, Naum, Masha, Luytiy, Leila - Ovcharka (working dogs)
Kaia, Maui - Shiba Inu
Loa, Ahi, Kaiju, Cho Cho - Shikoku Ken
Kona, Ritsu, Ayu, Nio, Chibi, Kumi - Kai Ken
Blue - Cane Corso (working dog)
Kahuna - Akita Inu
Chase - human
Zeta lives with some close friends in Taos now. Kodi, Leila, and maybe Naum will be going to live with Stacey in Feb.

As for Ovcharka, I don't have much to add, Lindsay said most of it.
The breeds you listed as comparison are all kinda mainstream breeds, the Ovcharka, at least in America, is not very mainstream.
Also most of those breeds in your list are not guardian breeds, the CO is a guardian breed, so obviously there will be some big differences comparing a non-guarding breed with a guardian breed let alone comparing all of the breeds you mentioned to the CO.
Then there are subsets in the guardian breed category too - like herders, LGD, and PPD.
In general I would say the CO is similar to the other LGD breeds in basic temperament but with some add man-aggression and a healthy defensive instinct and an intent to follow through (not just bluff). Like other LGD, CO are not as sticky as many short haired molosser-types.

Kinda hard to keep your pack pinned down when you keep adding to them! You got 48 hours to put up SPAM of Cho-Cho! :-P

We're gonna give Peggy a better matched female, just not sure who. Maybe from a Kumi breeding or maybe a new import.

Tara, Chibi loved you when you visited. If you want her she's yours. We want her in a home that understands shy kai.
----
What is her shyness like? Does she freak out at strange things and not recover?
@ayk, Brad can definitely answer better, but from what I saw she did not have a high level of anxiety. She was a typical Kai in her shyness with people. She did well with the other Kais. She is pretty typical of what I have always seen, but I can definitely see why Kumi and Ayu would be a better fit for breeding. They are very outgoing and lovable. They attach themselves to humans as well as other dogs.
I kind've forced Chibi into letting me hold her and love on her. I just picked her up and started snuggling. She did well though. Just hung out until it was time to play again.
It is a bit sad, a Kona x Chibi pup would be one good looking Kai!!! But I can see how the pups probably wouldn't be outgoing.
Mei as crazy and outgoing as she is with Koda and the family is extremely shy with people and other dogs. I'm always so proud when she breaks out of her shell and lets her mohawk down.

@ayk - Tara pretty much wrote what I would write...
Chibi is very loving and likes human attention, but she is also very easily spooked. So, if there is a loud noise or a lot of commotion she just bolts, she recovers, but that initial flight reflex and then the amount of time it takes for her to recover is not something I would want to reproduce. Because of my "whateverness", that makes dogs a little unsure of me, I have to work exceptionally hard to get Chibi to even come up to me. Once she does, she is fine - even cute and loving - but it's a task to get there.
I guess she is very sensitive to pressure... Example: if I am standing by her crate she will not go into her crate, I have to walk away from her crate and then she will go right in and wait for me to shut the door. There has been no bad experiences with me, the crate, and Chibi - she was like this from day 1.
Compare that to the others, who are bouncing off me trying to get me to play with them, and it makes her shyness very obvious. If we didn't have so many other Kai to compare to we might not think it was such a big deal, but when we look at them as a group Chibi's shyness becomes a "red flag".
If she was a male I might still breed her, but a female being that shy it just seems like too high of a risk that she will pass that on to her pups during gestation (as well as via inheritance). JMHO

Just like Koda was.......
