[VIDEO] "Pack Leadership"

  • Love it Brad! Thanks for the link!

I loved how Ian Dunbar was so disgusted by the "dominance theory" idea. And of course, he makes perfect sense, too, that being a leader means simply making sure you train your dog to understand the rules you have, so they understand them. And that dogs often simply don't know what the rules are.

They also debunked the dominance theory pretty well.....

I've become quite interested in the human interactions on the show, though. Is this his son and daughter? Son and wife? There's often some sense of exasperation, esp. between the woman and Ian Dunbar that makes me curious about what the story is....
  • I thought this video was great, I particularly enjoyed Ian's reactions to some of the statements.

I believe Kelly is his wife and Jamie is his son.

  • My wife and I wondered what the relationship dynamics were also. Kayla thought Jamie and Kelly were either married or brother and sister. I thought she was his wife, just by the way he responds to her--call it affectionately mean.
I like Dunbar. He respects dogs without putting them on a pedestal and condescends to them without being a brute. His philosophy is simple, which I respect.
  • I want to bookmark this on youtube and play it for everyone at the park! Loved it!
