Cool posts Brad and a nice find. I always get really into these training threads, so informative.
edit: Watching the other videos, I really liked what the researcher said in the Redefining the Pack clip. Said some stuff about the importance of not just spending the time with the dog but "acting like you're together" and being consistent with that everyday. A lot of people think you don't need to work your dog or do activities with them but I see that is part of living with them, they gotta be able to do dog things just as the owner needs to do human things. If a dog doesn't have a lifestyle that involves regular natural dog activities and behaviour I think they can become a bit of an ornament in a person's life, like something they just pet, walk and take pics of. Maybe I'm just ranting because I live in the city and see a lot of shibas being carried around in little LV bags like hostages

I can't imagine a shiba being carried around except for socialization, hurt or old..
Saya loves walking on her four feet though I do carry her when going in parking lots since lot people think it's OK to toss gum on the ground Saya got gum stuck to her paws took forever to get off. >.<
