Kai Ken on Petfinder?

I saw this dog under the Shiba breed in petfinder but looks like a Kai Ken to me. Wonder if anyone is missing a dog in Ga. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/13364566

She seems to have too masculine/blocky of a head for a female Kai? The tongue is kind of blended rather than sharply spotted?

I'm wondering about the tongue, too, as it's solid rather than speckled. I would have to guess chow mix, because of the tongue and the fact that chows are more common. But, you never know.

She also appears to be more chocolate in color than black with brindle. IMHO.

That one shows a strong resemblance to an Australian Cattle Dog too.

The one in AZ is described as "large" and looks to be a silver brindle. No reds to her coat. I'm guessing there's some Akita in her?

That one doesn't look like a Kai, but it does look like a very neat dog. @jan3t is in AZ, maybe she could check him out?

I am leaving about 6:00 am tomorrow morning for about a week and will see my first kai then - which hardly qualifies me as an expert, but I will certainly check the Glendale dog out when I get back. I will call the Akita rescue to let them know I am interested in seeing the dog.

They have the AZ dog listed as a Kai now.... (maybe they did all along and I'm just late to this. Both dogs are good looking...hope they get a home soon.

Claimed kai mix just looks like a mix.. I see alot of shiba on petfinder which doesn't look like a shiba at all.. >.<

Hard to say with the kai dog one could be a BC mix or something..

I seen some long haired kai ken before, but I can't say for sure. Wish they did better photo of the front and side..

either way hope the two get adopted.
