For the hunters- Retriever Work in the Scottish Borders

edited June 2011 in General
Was looking at the Retrieverman's Blog today. Found a section of videos about retrieving dogs in Scotland.
They were using labs and an occasional cocker. After this first video, there are a couple "retriever trial" videos.

  • That was so awesome. I just love the excitment in bird dogs, Hana is just like that when she see's me with a shotgun. The English style pheasant drives are fast action wing shooting and those things are flying high too. I like how the birds were landing right next to the handler.
  • @shishiinu- Glad you liked this. The "Retrieverman's blog" is a very good dog blog for anyone interested in hunting dogs. (Or dogs in general). A slightly "snarkier" blog is the "Terrierman's Daily Dose blog". Patrick Burns is somewhat blunt, but you can learn a lot of practical things from him about working a dog. (For example, for folks in the US, the hazards of dealing with skunk spray. No, this is not a joke. Skunk spray can be very toxic to a dog in close quarters!)
