Hi everyone! Long time!

edited July 2011 in General
I just wanted to stop by and see how everyone is doing. I know it's been ages and there's probably far too much to catch up on.

I still have Ronan (Shikoku) and Tasha (Akita). Tasha is an old girl now - probably 12. She's had a rough start this year, but is hanging in there. She still often plays and runs, and even jumps up on the bed or on people in very rare instances & moments of excitement. She's still a sweetie, too. Great with other dogs that are calm. Corrects those that aren't. Best dog ever! She is starting to become afraid of thunderstorms - something that never bothered her at all in the past. She's dependable off-lead and trustworthy around anything and anyone.

Ronan has calmed down quite a bit. He's still spazzy at times, and certainly skittish around the weirdest things, but he's uber people friendly. He's great with Tasha, but NOT okay with other dogs. Fear aggressive. We've tried and tried, and although he's a little better, I don't think we'll be adding another animal to the household for as long as we have Ronan. He wants to play, even cries. But if the other dog so much as makes eye contact, Ronan shakes and just flips out into a barking rage. When the dog looks away, he's back to crying in order to get their attention again. He's a ham around people and the camera, and is the star of a spoof video for my book. Oh, and he's still finicky about food as ever, and still a mama's boy and loves to snuggle.

Otherwise, everyone, including the pups are very healthy and happy.

How is everyone else?

  • Hey Michelle, long time no see. Glad to see everyone is alright on your front. Post some pics of Ronan and Tasha.
  • Hi Michelle!
  • Yeah, it's been a while! I saw your comment in the other thread and I could hardly believe my eyes! Glad to hear you're doing well. Care to tell us about your book and spoof video?

We're doing well, here. Not sure how long it's been exactly, but we have three kids now, Rakka still, and Sosuke, a kai pup from Brad. Tojo sadly went missing while my MIL was watching him.
  • Hi Michelle! Glad to hear everyone is happy and healthy. Don't be such a stranger!
  • HEY! It has been a long time! Glad to have you back around. :)
  • Welcome back.
  • I'll post picture of Ronan and Tasha as soon as I remember how. Tasha is really starting to look old. Twelve! Can you believe it? I so wish she was young again. She still plays, though. Still sweet as ever, too. Ronan is a real handsome fellow. And a HUGE mama's boy. LOL!

Tojo is missing?! No... I'm so sorry.

Good to see everyone still here!

I'll post pics as soon as I remember how... Ronan's spoof video is on YouTube I made it just for fun since Ronan (the original Beezlepup) was the inspiration for a character in the book.

The first book is The Book of Lost Souls, ebook only at the moment. Another book will be out sometime in August.
  • Love the video lol. Ooo you're on Smashwords, awesome.
  • Nice video! I loved the yawn. :-)
  • Nice video! That was very entertaining.
  • haha! that was funny!

Hahah, that video is very cute! Bummer though that your book isn't tangible just yet =/. I've read good reviews on it, CONGRATS! So when are you going to publish your Ronan Adventures book? Still writing those for fun or future release?

Let's see. What have we (the dogs and I) been up to since last we talked. Hmm. I think I added another Shikoku (Shuran) and a bird (Green Cheek Conure, "Dreamer") to my crew since then. I've been pretty busy working and trying to get caught up on stuff. This past summer I had a few failed breeding attempts with Shoushuu and Kotomi...so no puppies this Fall. I'm hoping Lynx will pull her into heat again in a few months so that I can attempt this same breeding. Otherwise I will have to wait until next year (counting 10 months from June).

Good news though. I did a short film with Shoushuu and Kotomi this past February out in L.A. so that will be released soon. The dogs are in a few scenes. Their favorite scenes are the chase scenes =p. The most difficult one was to get them to do a long sit or a long down, LOL. Anyways, looking forward to it.

Not too much else is new. Lynx failed a trial during her last attempt for a title. She did GOOD in the obedience and GREAT in the protection but she didn't earn enough points to pass. So next time -sighs-. I'm also expecting a few more Shikoku imports. Hopefully, a puppy late this year.

Oh, also one of my "new" jobs is working with ponies (a Shetland Pony, a Welsh Pony & Miniature Horses)!
