    Thanks for posting--one can see how controversial scientific topics can get. The first paper was published in Nature (one of the higher impact factor journal) whereas this paper, which disputes the first one is published in Hereditary. I wonder how long it would take for the field to accept it (if they do). Perhaps until another group validates it.

    Interesting! I believe this group also identified Shibas as one of the "ancient" breeds, based upon DNA analysis.

    This is really interesting! Coincidentally, yesterday I wiki-ed "ancient breeds" and the akita and shiba were on the top whatever most ancient list. Makes me kinda proud of Toki :)
