  • @*JackBurton* Just out of curiously since I don't really know how these things work, but why did the judge just pick a best male a female in the yochiken class but give placements out to all other classes? I was thought it would be kinda cool to see what the judge thought of Toki, just for fun, but he didn't seem to give much info out when jim asked.
  • Because they don't grade puppies. There's really no way to do so - puppies are awkward and so undeveloped.
  • Oh, that seems obvious, I should have assumed that, haha
    Thanks! :)
  • That was the feeling I got as well. Watch the judge these were the things I walked away with.

    1) Structure was very important to him. Wakakusa and Ayame getting Tokuyu but Kita only got first.

His comments during Q&A - was that puppies would grow and change as they age. I'll post a photo later to illustrate that.

Julia do me favor and post this on the JACAlist? Just like you asked here. I'll respond to it.
  • It'll be neat to see dogs' structure as pups and then as adults. :-)

I was mentally comparing the first Kita x Waka litter against the later one, but it'll be better to see the same dog as a pup and then as an adult.

  • Ooooo the ears are a little big on Kokoa's head as a pup, and then they were grown into :)
I guess this is a normal puppy thing then. I feel like Toki's ears are a little big for his head, as perfect as I view him, teehee :)))
    Thanks for posting!
  • Right, Kokoa ears are really up, which is not uncommon for puppies. There is some black on the face. This is common as the fur grows over that. But you can see the overall structure is there. Compared to the 1 year later photos you can see how she grew into her ears, the body has grown. As we go into next year or the year after that, you'll see her fill in. When Kokoa has her fist litter, her chest will drop and she should widen out.
