Little photo gallery of Tokuyu winners in the US

In Akiho the highest award you can win at the branch level is Tokuyu. The award does not need to be given out at every show. The winner of the award is allowed to compete in the headquarters show in japan. I'm still in the process of going through my records. I'm missing all of the 90s some of the late 80s couple of the 70s and 2002. I would love to put together a book covering all the shows from 1970-2012. This will cover the '70s and '80s, I'll make reply for the '90s '00s '10s.

  • I picked up an old book with loads of Akita photos from the 50s 60s 70s, early 80's- champions of shows in Japan and the US- its kinda wasted on me, since I am not nearly the akita person you or many others here are. There's a bunch of LA branch stuff in it too. I will give it you if you want it. I mostly picked it put of the box to look at pictures and in case a Forum friend would like it. Im offering Sean dibs, but if he isnt interested, I'm happy ot send it to any one else...it's free.
  • I would, I'll PM you the details. TY
  • Cool pics. Interesting how the face shape was changing as the years passed--it's a bit hard to tell in the earlier ones, since they're not direct shots but more side shots, but it looks like the cheeks got wider to give the dogs more of what I think of now as the classic JA look.
