Anybody has some info from the extincted Tsugaru dog from Aomori Prefecture?

Actually my friend is a shamisen player and he uses dog as well as cat skins. Most people go artificial these days but a lot of people still think the animal skins give a better sound. They also hold up better with different levels of humidity.
