Kona's horrible relentless bitching (warning: loud video)
Ok, a while back I mentioned how much Kona cried, and how loud and horrible it was... I said I would get it on video one day, and here it is:
He will do that for hours non-stop, in the middle of the night, in the AM, when he wants some water, when Jen leaves, or just because he feels like it. He will not stop till you let him out.
To be fare, I will admit, he has gotten much much better about it... but he still does it. Non of our dogs have bitched as much, or as loud, as him. It really sux.

oh no, it is when he is out too - but only if we are gone will he cry when he is out. He will cry in his crate like that if we are sitting 5 inches away!
That is the thing tho, if it was one constant tone and sound you could block it out... but it's not, so you can't block it out and ignore it (which is really what you should do). So frustrating! He wakes us up w/ that every morning between 6am and 8am depending on how sleepy he is.
How do dogs do it? Be so cute and so annoying at the SAME time.
Mika had the same issues, but only when we were out of the house or whenever we crated her. I thought her separation anxiety was extreme. Jeez. It took about a year for Mika to get over her anxiety. Getting Keigo helped especially when she gets scared.
I was able to watch about 10 seconds and then Piggy and Moto both freaked out.
That is rough.
We feed Lao and Kona in their crates, he will go in their and just chill when he is sleepy so I don't think he associates it with negativity. We have not tried covering his crate, maybe that will help.
This particular episode was because Jen took Ahi, Hilo, and Loa out and the Shibas were in the other room so he felt he was alone. That is when he freaks... it seems to be a separation anxiety thing, but not to just one person... seems he just doesn't want to be away from his mom, Ahi and Loa... Hilo he doesn't seem to care to much about, I mean he LOVES Hilo but doesn't get upset when he is not around. Seems to just be the ladies he doesn't like to be without.
I agree tho, seems like an insecurity issue or a "I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM REALLY BAD" issue when he freaks out like this.
As I write this post he and Loa are sleeping quietly in their crates and we are in the other room.
Kohji does the dying mule sound too. He only does it though when I get ready to leave work with him. When I take the blankets and water dish out of his kennel and walk out of the room, he does that sound EVERY time. I never had issues other than that though when he was a puppy. I don't even know what to suggest Brad. News was and kind of still is the loudest, most obnoxious dog when I walk out of the house without him(even with John still IN the house) or when I bring him to work and leave the room after I have kenneled him, he barks furiously for about 15 minutes and hurls his body against the crate. It's the worst separation axiety I've ever seen. He is ok at home in his crate now, but just recently it's gotten easier for him.
I ignore it at work completely, and a bark collar does not even phase him in the slightest, he has learned that the shock stops eventually if he barks through it. I can put all the Busy Buddy toys and Kongs in the world in his kennel at work and all he wants is out. All I can say is using shaker cans at home when he would whine and bark in his crate made him stop and his kennel at home is the only place he doesn't go nuts when he's confined anymore.
Yea, Kona will through his body at the door too... so odd. I should video that. lol.
He is slowly improving, so maybe it will go away - i hope so.
