Two-dog Retracting Leash

edited June 2012 in Products & DIY
Just saw this and though, hey, I have two dogs. I'd like to walk them on retractable leashes without them getting tangled.

Anyone try something like this? Thoughts? This is the first time I've seen or heard of anything like it.

  • Looks like a disaster to me, but then again I am not fond of retractable leashes. I have enough issues walking two of my dogs together on regular 6 foot leads (Juneau has more prey-drive than Conker, and Sasha doesn't know anything about direction) that I'd never give that a shot.
The closest I've come to that is two long-lines, and that was pretty dang hard.
  • Interesting concept... But I am also not a fan of retractable leashes. But if you decide to get it, let us know how well it keeps them tangle free.
  • I wouldn't use one retractable leash let alone two. But that's a cool concept with the spinner.
  • This one gets pretty crappy reviews, but there are a couple others. I'm not sure this is actually that much better than just a regular retractable leash with a coupler. I guess the dogs could go in way opposite directions and not have to stay close together... but is that a good thing?

I haven't used a retractable leash in ages because Rakka somehow managed to break ALL of the ones we ever owned, even though they were all supposed to be for dogs twice her size. Not sure what the deal with that is.
