I would be interested too. When is the pet expo again? I got a JA and was thinking about taking him there, I think you have to sign a paper to being your dog.
I also dunno if there are any kai ken in Dallas....but I hope so!
If you guys go to Houston I'd definitely make the trip with Tsune to visit. I have a strong feeling all of you west coasters won't be making the South Florida Pet Expo haha. I also have yet to see a JA in person, it'd be really cool to see Gojira and the rest!
@oddball I don't know of any Kais in Texas. Not to say there aren't any, but I just haven't seen any active members on here, fb, or the yahoo group.
I went to the OC Pet Expo this April and took Koda. I would totally be down to go next year with Mika and Koda if you ever want to plan a weekend trip to So. Cal.
@jellyfart Oh man that would be awesome to meet you and Toki! He's so unbelievably cute and it'd be great to finally meet not just a JA, but an NK forum JA Is the booth a forum people booth or an organization booth? I've never been to any sort of animal or pet convention so not sure how the booths generally work.
@cezieg aww, thanks! And it will be run by JACA, (Japanese Akita club of America), the parent club to the UKC. We're trying to expand out of Cali, or at least that is my understanding. Texas has one established breeder and another upcoming breeder, so Texas makes sense to me.
It's funny I was visiting family ten miles from the OC expo the week after it. They're moving out here to tx so there no reason for me to fly back out to cali. I could see bout hitting Houston expo next April. I would like to be on a waiting for a Kai by then but waiting for my house to be finished being built before I try getting on a wait list.

I am in Houston, so it looks like I won't be going.
