Gojira goes to the Grand Canyon - surprising questions from tourists! *Now with photos!*
Every time I go out with one of my dogs, I end up with a lot of compliments and answering a ton of questions. Promotion and education is a huge part of what we do as a club (AKIHO LA and JACA) so I don't mind at all. Usually people want to know if Gojira is a Shiba, Husky, Coyote, or Fox. Nobody ever guesses Akita, even a few AA owners have been shocked when I tell them.
Today was different, however! We went to the Grand Canyon and there were hundreds of tourists and foreigners there. I recognized German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese discussions about my dog. "Bellissimo!," I overheard multiple times as I walked past. A Japanese couple wanted photos of her. A spanish speaking group asked me numerous questions through a translator.
But what shocked me the most was that all of the foreigners who approached me, or who I overheard talking about Gojira, wanted to know if she was an Akita Inu. Only one person asked if she was a Husky, and he was from California.
Gojira was very nervous at first, especially because we arrived right after some of the tour busses had let out hundreds of people so the crowds were thick. But soon she calmed down, and enjoyed lots of pets from awestruck kids and elderly tourists.

@poeticdragon Nice to hear that Gojira is doing well.
I went to Petco last week with Eevee and someone asked if she was a Shikoku. I was so happy! Shikoku was the closest I heard to "Kai Ken" so we talked for a little bit. I even called my girlfriend and brother saying, "the coolest thing just happened!"
I loved it when people asked if my Shiba was a fox hybrid lol. One guy was really rude about it and poked his head through my car window to get a better look (,,#゚Д゚)
I didn't know dogs were allowed on grand canyon Saya would love to go there I myself would too.
I'll post some more photos of the Canyon and Gojira making friends with tourists later... These were just my top picks for the photo contest on Facebook.

The pictures are very well taken, too!
Nicole, you should absolutely take Saya on a road trip!
