My Akita can teleport and it blew my mind
This morning my husband and I were going to take Mosura and Ghidora, in two separate vehicles, to obedience class. We were traveling separate because after Mosura's class, I planned to take Ghidora down to Shoreline Villiage to socialize him with a friend's dog there.
Mosura was in the house and I went out back to get Ghidora. I got him out of his run, put his collar and leash on, and brought him up to the back door. I looked inside to see if my husband had already taken Mosura out to his truck. I saw he was having difficulty with her harness, so I came in to help with it. I left Ghidora, with his leash dragging under him, on the deck.
While I was telling him how to put the harness on, I heard a wooden clank sound but didn't think much of it. The dogs often get up on top of the tables on the deck, and Ghidora is not the smoothest and most graceful of animals.
After getting Mosura ready to go, having difficulty getting all the supplies together, and otherwise wasting time, I realized we were going to be late. I shooed my husband and Mosura out the front door and went back in for the cut up hotdogs in the fridge. I came outside to see Aaron attempting to put Mosura in the back of my car.
Stressed about being late, I demanded to know what he was doing. He responded hotly that there wasn't room for both dogs in the truck.
"Of course not," I said, "But I thought Ghidora was going with me."
"Then why did you put him in the truck?" Now Aaron sounded more uncertain than angry. I didn't catch on.
"I didn't!"
"Well he is -- look!"
Sure enough, I could see the truck parked out on the street and a brindle keeter face staring towards the house from the back seat. Instantly, we were both dumbfounded, when we realized neither one of us had put him in the truck.
We checked all of the gates and the truck doors. The gates were secured shut and the doors closed (although the passenger side window was rolled down). I even checked to make sure it was actually my dog in the truck. (It once happened that we chased Gryphon around for an hour in the neighborhood, only to find her accidentally locked in the garage when we came home unable to catch her. It was some other white female Akita on our tiny little cul de sac!)
The only rational explanation is that the dog jumped two gates and into a car window. But this is a dog who HATES to exert energy especially to jump. Normally, he will half-heartedly put his feet on the door sill of the car and expect to be lifted in.
Magic I tell you.
