Happy Birthday ARGOS & the rest of the Y x K litter (pics!!)
Just throwing a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY out there for the whole 2011 Yamato x Kimi litter (Ghost @Jikjak, Kuma @Eljefespeaks). Lotsa love to all of Arg's brothers out there who are now the big 1!
Anyway, we've been kind of MIA from the forum with the hecticness of graduating from university/relocating and so on. But Argos is doing great!
Arg had a tasty selection of his favourite foods in celebration.
So the big one year update on our little Argosian One:
He's not only turned one year old, but the big 50, too. Pounds, that is! Yeah, he's our 50lbs wonder (21.5" at the withers). He's just recently come off some of that adolescence high (intact) and calmed down a little, listened some more! He's also developed some adorable/clownish quirks. If you're not paying attention to him when he's "in the mood," he'll lightly paw or kick (if he's lying down) you and then look away as if to say, "What? Oh, something got your attention? Well, it wasn't me, but since you're looking at me you might as well pet me." He still loves people like crazy, and licks hands/legs/anything so much it's tough to just give him a head pat without being licked (although that's nothing compared to the licking, howling, whimpering, super-excited display he gave my father when he came to visit). He's become quite the shredder, so we manage that (toilet paper is his favourite), but he has his own blankets that he can shake/run with/shred (within reason, but he never eats anything he shreds) and now generally leaves other things alone. When he gets excited and wants to wrestle his eyes go all owly and he scoots around the house in a "wrestle and run" technique, but he's got such a soft mouth. Especially with children. A friend brought his 1 1/2-year-old daughter by and despite loving kids more than any other creature on the face of the planet (he'll give long, mournful howls if he can't see them) and being an exuberant little pup, he was very gentle with her.
He's not lovin' the heat right now, but I know that will go away soon. Finally shed the last of his coat (we get "false start" summers here, and I think that messed him up). He's still too smart for his own good but with a little more age he's actually starting to show it to other people! So our little ball of muscle, energy, and love is doing great.
Here are some recent pics. They don't really do his coat justice, a few were with my phone camera and the others were washed out by the sunlight. He's got a lot more red to him (I swear he's Yamato's son, from appearance to the clownish, half-assed listening, but Brad disagrees a little on the appearance).
Caught him sleeping on the bed with his head on the pillow:
When he woke up and saw me hovering over him he gave me some shikoku speak (probably translated to, "You creeper, get out!!"):
Missing a high-five:
Overshooting a high-five:
And just generally looking like a handsome pup:
And my favourite, Arg looking ridiculously happy:

@WrylyBrindle He is a ridiculous amount of fun. I don't think I've laughed so hard at/with a dog before in my life. If he'd stay still with sunglasses on, I'd take a picture to show off how cool he is.

hey is the birthday actually july 25 or july 26? i see both dates written down on 2 different things.
My favorite picture is the last one! He looks as if he is laughing!! So cute!
@Calia Thank you! I think "ugly shikoku" is an oxymoron and impossible, but he certainly is (in my eyes especially, lol) a very handsome guy. Can't go wrong with those genetics, hey (lookin' at you, Miyu)?
@Eljefespeaks & @JikJak Just checked the registration, it's actually July 26th! So false start, but oh well. The rest of the documentation says 25th for me as well. I would love to see some pictures of Kuma (and Ghost, of course!), I like seeing how they take after their parents. And I'm so glad Kuma and Ghost get to see each other! The next time we're on the coast we'll have to meet up if time and schedules permit. Arg's missing out on his rough and tumble play (and he is very rough and tumble!) since we moved (his two major play companions are the overweight min pin upstairs [they get along fine but the min pin runs out of breath and gets cranky] and a Burnese x lab that he meets on walks [she doesn't always love the rough play, it's hit and miss]), although he meets a lot of small dogs on his daily nature walk.
Thanks @Kuma123 & @CrimsonO2! He's got the most heart melting smile, especially when he's just chewed up a toilet paper roll!
