Finding a breeder in Japan?

I've been reading though a lot of the different posts here and see a lot of people go to japan to buy a puppy. I'm just curious, how do you guys go about finding breeders to visit and communicating with them? I imagine language can be a big barrier. I'm not looking to do this any time soon (like not for years, haha) but I'm just curious how those who have been successful have gone about doing it.

I haven't imported a dog from Japan myself, but I believe several forum members have asked Shigeru ( @TheWalrus ) for help with this.

If you see a dog you like in the US, find out that dog's breeder and look them up online. That's how I contacted most of the breeders I know. Other than that, I stalk people on Facebook.
