Learning to love grains, potatoes was key to the evolution of dogs

  • Looks like the same as the LATimes story posted earlier today on these forums.
  • I saw this briefly there is a few different articles on this.. I haven't read the whole thing, but I think this one looks more informative then the others.

I'll read this tomorrow when I have time to.
  • Oh, oops...
  • Either way I read whole thing and I think I enjoyed this more has more information plus doesn't make any jabs at raw dog feeders or people who feed grain free kibble..

I mean grain free kibble has carbs potatoes or something else to keep kibble together instead of grains.

I feed mainly prey model raw and I feel her diet is fine I just don't get what people have issue with it. She does get dog treats and home made dog treats that has oatmeal, wheat.. I'm going to try a batch of treats with coconut flour instead of wheat to see how it goes.

I don't think carbs or starches are bad per say. Saya's intake on it isn't 40% or 50% like the other article saying dogs need.

I don't know how much % she gets, but I don't think It should matter as she does well on her diet and enjoys a snack of fruit or sweet potato when I make those.

I do save a couple pieces of buckwheat pancakes with no syrup on it to use for recall treat and if I made a bit of bacon she gets tiny bit. She loves buckwheat pancakes. Too bad I ran out of the ingredients need to go to the mill to get some more.
