soft crate recommendations?
Does anyone here use soft crates? I am looking for one so I can take Toki places where he needs a crate, and having a crate that is made of fabric seems convenient. Lugging around a metal wire crate is HELL, even if it is "portable".
I saw @poeticdragon's soft crate used for ghidora at this past AKIHO/JACA show in California and I was envious
I've decided no more wire crate, and since Toki doesn't chew, I figured I would give it a go.
Any input, recommendations, or advice is welcome.

We also had the problem of lugging a really heavy metal wire crate for travel (because Hana can't handle being in the car without one, and she doesn't like the small plastic crate used for the airplane because it's not comfortable)
It's relatively inexpensive (we also got it on sale) and it's really light and easy to pack up. We use it for Hana's safe crate place for downstairs, and for travel in the car.
Here are some other options: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_i_0?rh=k:soft+crate,i:pets. I think they're pretty much all created equal, just depends on what door, flap, and pocket options you want.
I know what you mean about toting around the metal crate. The Poongsan's doesn't fit in the trunk of my Civic, too. I use a 3 ft tall x-pen with a top and it's a lot more portable and lighter for me. I also carry around a folding luggage carrier if the carrying distance ends up being far.
I used to have a civic. They can hold a lot more than you think, lol! But a big crate, no. I feel ya.

We found the wire crates we had were just too much pain in the ___ to be toting around, especially if we eventually wanted to do sporting events like agility. They now are just fixtures in our house for training and time out purposes.
I do worry when one of them starts scratching at it to get out, but so far that hasn't created any big tears, but I can see how it could. The only thing that has happened with the soft sided crate was with my new puppy he managed to tip it forward trying to see if he could get the top access door open, when he tipped it the top access door was now a side access door. If we hadn't noticed right away he would have found himself in a very strange position and/or he may have kept tipping/rolling the crate around until something gave and he could get out. Keep in mind we had him only a week or so at that point, so we were still working on his crate manners.
They aren't super duper amazing, but they work for when I need a crate and it's not for something where a dog will be trying to rip out of it.
