yellow dog project

Anyone know/hear of this? Does anyone participate? I like the idea that it's international, and everyone who knows what it is, will instantly understand. :)

  • I've heard of it... but only on the internet. I think it's a great idea (reminds me of tying red ribbons in horses' tails to warn that they may kick), but unfortunately I feel like it's not something enough average non-dog people (or even many dog people) would recognize for it to be effective.

Which is really unfortunate, because it's a great idea.
  • @trzcina yeah I had a feeling.. it would be nice if the poster was up at all major dog stores (petsmart, training classes etc..) then maybe the word would spread faster? Marketing ideas~ haha
  • I posted something about this in regards to bringing my dogs to a dog parade. Other members mde me aware of something I hadn't previously thought of. If you have a yellow scarf or ribbon and someone gets too close to your dog and gets bitten, you can be held legally accountable for your dog's actions becuse you were aware of them being "dangerous" beforehand.
Side note: we went to the parade without yellow ribbons and had a fabulous time with no troubles.
  • An Australian friend of mine pointed out that most of the poop-bags sold are yellow in her country; and people tie them to the leash.
