Yep, the time has come. Sumiko was scheduled to get spayed this Friday, but went into heat over the weekend. Now we have to push the surgery back until next month. She has been resting a ton and seems to be handling it all very well. BTW, does anything smell better than dog's paws! Not just now, but her paws always smell like a combo of earth flavors and Fritos. I just can't get enough! Any comments are welcome...

If she's in heat now, you should wait 3-4 months to get her spayed to give her body some time to get the hormones to normal levels.

@Calia Mika's hormones and uterus size were normal two months after bleeding started.

@mysticrhythms I told my husband Ryan Akuma's paws smell like fritos and he thought I was pretty silly ha. So funny you think so too Good luck with the heat and future spaying. We would love to see more pictures of your Sumiko!

wow... the girls in this litter have been like clockwork. They all came into heat within a few weeks of each other. Neat!

Oh my, I guess I had Shelby spayed just in time! I had her done March 19 and she rocked right through recovery like nothing ever happened.
I do agree on the feet smell...my Shiba lays on the couch and I'm always grabbing her feet for a sniff. It's second only to puppy breath!

I'm just finding the last couple sisters from this recent Nio x Ayu litter (I've got sis Kona) and am all excited ^_^ I think it's funny all the girls went into heat right around the same time xP but i must agree, i love the paw smell...mainly because when i smell it it just reminds me of Kona

Ha ha! There's a reason I only mentioned Mya... Shelby steps in her doo sometimes and Sophie doesn't have the smell to her feet. Mya has the best smelling little Shiba feet ever!
