Dog Stamps

edited April 2013 in General
I recently purchased three stamps from Vintage Dog A Day, two of which are Spitz-types. One looks like an Akita (middle) and the other (left) looks like it might be a Poongsan? @Ayk The third is a Belgian Sheepdog (Groenendael).
Anywho, I figured I'd share them with you guys since the Spitz stamps are spiffy, and was curious if anyone could translate them for me.

I have a pic of the akita.I forgot her name tho. I'll post it when i get to my pc. Now I remember, the akitas name was Tachibana.
  • Very cool! ~
  • The middle does look like an Akita. Reminds me of the Akitas that predate ww2

This is Tachibana. She was one of the few akitas to survive WW2 photo kitte_zps7ce85497.jpg
  • @akitarise That's really cool! Thanks for posting the picture.
  • I love stamps and coins with animals on them! I've got an Irish 6p with a wolfhound on it that I cherish :)
  • Very cool! Somewhere I have a bookmark made out of a laminated strip of Soviet-era stamps with various kinds of laiki and... a borzoi? I think. I know there's one non-laika breed on there. Dunno where it is, though :P
  • I have a whole unused sheet of the 2yen Akita stamps!!
