Car seat covers that won't slip?

edited April 2013 in Products & DIY
I've been scouring the internet looking for the perfect car seat cover that wont slip on leather car seats!

Sakura is less than thrilled by car rides, and even less than that by my current seat covers in my car that slide over the seats. I swear, she slips around like she's on an ice-skating rink even with the most gentle of acceleration and braking :(. It's bad enough that she's prone to car sickness, the slipping and sliding DOES NOT help Dx!

I was wondering if any of you have found a good car seat protector that will not slide around on leather seats. So far, these are the only ones that I've found that look promising:

I think the 2nd one is a bit on the pricey side... These next 2 just look comfy, not sure how they'd handle with slipping around:

I'll also be looking for a bucket seat cover, but I'm assuming whoever sells a good back-seat cover will also sell a decent bucket seat one.

  • Have you tried hammock types?
  • @ayk No :(. Do they seem to be a better option than a regular seat cover? I was hoping there'd be something I could get that would just slip over the seat and act as a comfy no-slip seat guard.
  • Try putting some of the anti slip matting under the seat cover, like the kind they use for hallway runners. Works great.
  • i like the hammock type of cover. Then I don't have to worry about the dogs coming to the front.
  • i haven't tried yet, but i've heard bathmats work well.
  • Do the hammock. Car seat covers and hammocks will get hair on them. For me, the hammocks are easier to remove (for human guests) and throw the hammock in the trunk.

  • I just put the back sests down fully covering the footwell s and throw down some blankets. Easy enough to vaccum later. Do you have an SUV?
  • My hammock always gets ripped. If you have a dog that likes to stand on the center console, the straps gets a lot of pressure from the dogs' hind legs.
