PB Oat Squares


Ingredients:

2 cups wheat flour

1 tbsp baking powder

2 tbsps sesame seed oil

1 cup PB -( i used natural PB with honey - at room temp)

1 cup low fat milk

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups uncooked oats


Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Grease cookie sheet (i used parchment paper)

3. Mix all ingredients except for 1/2 cup oats

4. Pour mixture and spread on cookie sheet

5. Take remaining oats, spread on top and tap down with fork to make it stick when done cooking

6. Bake for 25 minutes (longer if you want them crispy)

7. Hot or cold, cut treats into 3-inches by 1 1/2 inches and store in sealed container


My dogs go NUTS for these!

    i took the last two out of the freezer (after like a month) and the shibas still wanted to eat them! they are sustainable and doggy approved!

    Last night was so humid and icky that we made a cold treat for the pups:

    Plain yogurt (no sugar, organic) strained in cheesecloth to remove excess liquid
    Diced strawberries
    Blueberries, whole or diced
    Mix well - I didn't puree but I'm sure you can!

    Pour mixture into ice cube tray - freeze - then let them enjoy!

    I also made a human version with strawberry yogurt, strawberries and raspberries with added sugar. De-lish!!

    That sounds nice a nice alternative to popsicles or ice cream in super hot weather. I should try it!
