back seat covers

edited June 2013 in General
Ok I tried to look all over before I litter the forum but I need help. With nanook blowing his coat or in the beginning stages of blowing and a JA puppy coming sometime in mid august my stepfather has been asking me for backseat dog hammocks and costs. Our new car specifically has a barred barrier so dogs cant jump over so were good on that and the trunk has mats and the works but they need to be thrown out which is why my stepfather asked for my help. I tried to look online but they only gave me seat covers for dogs unless I just get a really huge dog seat cover and line the back with it? Also nanook is starting to blow coat and the hair is starting to fly all over the car. It doesn't bother me at all but my stepfather is very meticulous with his vehicles being clean. lol

  • Old crappy blankets work fine for me.
  • I use towels from the dollar store to cover the seats. I just tuck them in and when they need to be thrown out, no problem. I have black cloth interior, so I am very familiar with dog hair issues in the vehicle! Lint rollers also work well for the top of the car. Nothing is foolproof, but it helps a lot.

@poeticdragon I think those will help pretty good as long as they can cover the back of the truck I think Ill also take myabee09's advice too and have a supplies of lint rollers and towels in handy also lol I got my mom on board with this Idea. She said she found a big king sized quilt that cools based on your body temp. kind of skeptical but we'll see how it goes X)
  • Oh man, I want a cooling blanket for ME. That's something that exists? If it works let me know!
  • lmao I sure wil and my mom said she found it in IKEA for like 20$ I was also thinking of outside dog cot beds for the yard so this way if they lay down or want to lay down their joints wont get stressed for laying on concrete.
  • Old bed linens and a dyson handvac.
The handvac is a bit pricey but I use it all around the house and it's awesome.
  • lol we have the dyson vac. pretty powerful especially for the amounts of hair nanook leaves behind. And do you think there's like straps or you can hand make straps to put around old bed sheets or towels and wrap em around the back of the seats so this way the sheets can move? I think it can be done XD
