I am a terrible father...

edited August 2013 in General
Greetings fellow Nihon Ken owners,

It's been some time since posting on here. Our little girl is growing up nicely and has shed most of her winter coat. She is truly an amazing pup and recognized as such by all who have the honor of meeting her. It's hard to believe she will be a year old next month!

The reason I label my post as such is because while brushing her today, I accidentally brushed out one of the whiskers on the side of her face and feel horrible for what I have done. This is not a confessional rather more of an alarm that I have done irreparable damage to our little girl. She didn't even flinch when I did it.

Has this ever happened to anyone and will it grow back?

Signed,
Shameful parent

  • Whiskers will shed as well. It might have been the whisker's time to fall out.
  • Oh nooooz! Glad Sumiko is doing well tho. Nice to see you on the forum! :)
  • I've found Akuma's shed whiskers on the floor so I wouldn't worry. Like ayk said maybe it was it's time to fall out or even if it got snagged and came out I don't think it's different than catching one of our hairs or eyelashes and accidentally pulling it out. It'll be fine :)
  • You can pay your parental penance by spamming this thread with photos of Sumiko- post em up! I haven't seen sis since the airport!

(and keep in touch- I want to have a NorthEast NK Meetup this fall!)

  • Dittos to what @WrylyBrindle said...I would LOVE to see Kona's sis! :D
And don't consider yourself a bad father...i guarantee she loves you just as much as she ever did, and im sure it was going to happen anyway as people have said before. :)

Don't worry about it. Whiskers fall out all the time. Not long after i got Mya I decided to take her swimming. Poor thing can't swim and sank like a rock! I cried and felt horrible, but she has yet to hate me for it. So, if you are bad.. I need my dogs repossessed!
And I agree, we need to see pics! I have sister Shelby and just can't see enough pics of her siblings! :)
