I got my Kai at almost 4 months old, and she was the easiest puppy I've ever had. I would have preferred to get her closer to 10 weeks old, but the holidays fell around that time and it was impossible. I've also gotten a puppy (not nk) at 7 weeks ol…

Ah, see I know nothing about showing. Both my girls are spayed, so we will be spectators.

I'm not showing either of mine for their own reasons. Shelby is already a nervous dog, and I'm working with her now in hopes that she'll be up for mingling. I don't think showing would be in her best interest. And miss Mya is very cute and friendly.…

I obviously can't show Mya or Shelby, but I'd really like to go. Do many people bring their dogs just to meet up and be spectators?

Sorry, I've been busy lately and not really paying attention to the internet. I got Mya just before she turned 2 years old. I was her third owner, so we had a lot of issues to work through. She's a good little Shiba and I promised her that I would n…

In my limited experience, I've found they tend to bond to whomever they please. My Shiba belonged to me for over a year before I started dating my now husband. I had to do bonding training with her to even touch her, much less take her to formal tra…

I realized that I haven't updated in awhile, so here's some new pics of Shelby. She's doing amazing with her recall and we've been going on hikes in the desert when the weather is nice. I'm planning a trip to Yellowstone soon with the ladies, and I …

Go Kiba! I'm so glad that you have taken the time with him and he's opening up more now. Getting any dog as a second ( or third) owner can be difficult, but it seems to be harder with nk breeds. I had a lot of tearful nights after getting Mya, so I …

This can't be real.. I refuse to believe this is real..

Aww! He's so cute!!

Did you go to the vet? It could be ear mites. It's really hard to see them without one of those magnifying tools. They can give you drops at the vet if that's what it is.

Ok, so maybe I'm putting the musher's secret on wrong. How do you guys do it? I just rub their feet in the tub of wax until they're coated.

I think I'm just screwed with Mya. I tried boots, but by the time I got the second boot on she had already taken off the first one. She licks off the musher's secret, too. I've been raking her a path in the yard, but I think next year I'll just lay …

@Kira_Inu I already use the booda dome, and I was just looking at the clean step ones! Our house is set up weird and I don't have room for one now. But we're moving soon and I'm going to make sure we have enough room for one in the next house. She…

I think @wrylybrindle hunts for grouse with her Kai. I'm not a hunter, so I really don't know what they're capable of. Where in the south did you move to? I'm originally from Louisiana. :)

He should definitely be leashed right now. Maybe in an open area where he can't get to the chickens you could try working on his recall with one of those super long training leashes. My Shiba will never be good with recall outdoors, but she didn't c…

Congrats! She sounds like she's doing really well so far! I use photobucket for my pics. I upload them there and then share by copying the html to my post here. I'm not too computer savvy, but I hope this helps. :)
