Not a service dog, but one of our meetup members has a Shiba who is a therapy dog. They belong to an organized therapy organization that is involved with a wide variety of groups and scenarios. So it is possible to train a Shiba to be in a highly …

@theWalrus- There is a very active Shiba community in the San Francisco area and Northern CA. Here is a link to the Bay Area Meetup site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BayAreaShibas/ I will private message you with a contact email address for…

See the other entry about this girl. A Two Dog Farms Jindo Rescue volunteer visited her. Info is on their FB and main website. She is available for adoption or can be fostered through the rescue.

I passed this listing to the Two Dog Farms Jindo Rescue.

Michelle- Thanks for helping with the little guy. Fingers crossed that a good home can be found for him! Sukoshi Mom

Zuko is now on his way to his long term foster in Southern CA. There are already some folks interested in him who have submitted adoption applications! For future updates, see the Two Dog Farms Jindo Rescue Facebook page.

Oh, puppies! Name for the little brindle girl with the "star": Hoshi (star) Shared this discussion with one of the key Shiba breeders here in NorCal.
-
Have let the Northern CA Shiba community know about this. (Club and rescues) Also passed to Masako (Saving Shibas) in Southern CA. Let Two Dog Farms Jindo Rescue know about as well.

For the Forester folks, link to the Subaru Forester Owners Forum http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/ Good forum, useful information

Zuko is now in a temp foster home and scheduled to move into a longer-term foster home in mid-September, due to the collaborative efforts of some Shiba and Jindo folks.

Update: Noire will be going to Passion for Paws Rescue on Thursday. Yay!
-
Just sent in a donation. Hope this helps.

@the walrus-- you may want to consider a Pacific/West coast Shiba breeder for the little girl. I think some of them belong to this Forum or the Shiba Forum

I wondered if I needed the slightly larger 2015 Forester. Then I wound up hauling a 6 ft tree sapling in the cargo area. Put one seat down and set it in diagonally. Fit in perfectly when I closed the hatch!

@wrylybrindle_ Thanks for the suggestion. Couldn't recall how old the previous thread was... As I recall, there are lots of Subaru owners among the NK Forum membership. I'm on my third Subie, second Forester. Held on to my 2002 Forester for 12 …

Nice photos. I have a 2015 Subaru Forester Note to the mods: I think there is already a "dog car" thread.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Amy looks like a lovely, sweet girl. Your are both lucky to have had each other. (I had a BC named Frisky. Had to put him down due to bone cancer.)
-
Actually, I was concerned about him getting excited and going up and over the railing. Is there room for a fairly good sized wire crate on the balcony (where he could still look out)???
-
What a good looking fellow! Tempts me to get Shikoku (the other Nihon Ken I've been drawn toward.) Great photos, especially the wilderness ones. But the balcony shots make me nervous... Thanks for the thread.

Passed this to the organizer of the Portland OR Shiba Meetup.

@kmerritt- private message me thru this forum w your contact info and a write up on Zuko if you would like me to share info with the Sacramento Shiba Inu Meetup members. I can help you look for a home for him that way.
-
Have no idea about this dog's status. I contacted the owner via Craigslist--and never heard back. I let the Sacramento Shiba Meetup members know about him. As far as I know, none of the members contacted the owner. (At least no one told me that …

I will put this out to the Sacramento Shiba Inu Meetup members ASAP! 1) contacted the Craigslist ad poster and let them know that the Sacramento Shiba Inu Meetup has been notified about their ad 2) Distributed the ad to the meetup membership. Incl…
