Hummm ….not sure….in the Trut study she mentions Russian geneticist Dmitry Belyaev (1950’s director of Institute of Cytology and Genetics) who “began a decades-long effort to breed a population of tame foxes and hoped to find the morphological changes in domestic dogs that could have resulted from a single behavioral trait." Apparently his study continued beyond his death. So maybe his now his domestic foxes are the ones out there somewhere still being evaluated.
Given his time from of research in 5 or 6 decades there could be folks sill studying it now with tame foxes.
Interesting though.... but I still don't think I would want a stinky fox as a pet. (LOL)

Anyway, If you notice he has a strange coloring....Not sure what type of fox he is ..if there is a type for fur foxes.
